Beyond Bilingual was established in 2007 as a boutique agency catering to the needs of Bilingual job seekers and employers. Afsi Varasteh, president and managing director is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in the world of Bilingual recruitment.
The name “Beyond Bilingual” stems from our mission of going beyond language skills. We continuously seek candidates with specific soft skills, values, capabilities and industry experience that align with the employers needs ensuring the best fit hence the choice of a boutique agency offering focused attention that clients desire and seek, something that is lacking in larger agencies.
Social responsibility is one of Beyond Bilingual’s core values. In 2017, we completed building a Beyond Bilingual school in Senegal.
In 2019, we acquired Anne Whitten bilingual recruitment, Toronto’s FIRST bilingual recruitment agency. This acquisition furthered our growth making us a leader in the world of bilingual recruitment.

About the Founder
Afsi Varasteh, President and Managing Director of Beyond Bilingual is a Bilingual professional with over 25 years of experience in the world of recruitment. She spent ten years of her youth living in Paris with her family before coming to Toronto in 1986. While in Paris, she learned to speak the language.
As a young adult living in Toronto, Ontario, she occasionally visited Montreal, Quebec. Growing up in Canada, she developed friendships with French Canadians and gained familiarity with their culture. This experience allowed her to discover the rich spectrum of Francophones represented in the Canadian mosaic.
Afsi began her career as a bilingual recruiter in 1995. She excelled quickly, learning the needs and nuances of the industry.
