Bilingual Early Years Educator
FULL TIME, PERMANENT
Location: (100% on-site) – Mississauga/Brampton
Hours: Mon-Fri – 8:45am-4:30pm - (35 hours/wk.)
Salary: Up to $50K + Yearly Salary Reviews

Job Summary:
The Early Years Educator is responsible for delivering high quality play-based early learning programs to children (age 0 – 6) and their caregivers.
Responsibilities
Program Delivery:
- Develop and implement child-directed, quality early learning activities using the company curriculum, the Four Foundations of Learning (How Does Learning Happen) and the company’s program standardizations for children 0 – 6 years of age and their parents/caregivers.
- Engage children in planned programs by utilizing various pedagogical approaches which reflect and include the children’s interests and needs.
- Communicate purpose and goals of activities with parents/caregivers in relation to child development, safe risk taking and the value of child-directed play.
- Provide emotional support, information and role modelling for parents and caregivers raising young children.
- Work with Manager to develop programs that meet the ongoing needs of clients.
- Greet and provide information to clients in a friendly and compassionate manner.
- Use appropriate tracking system to record client attendance and resource use.
- Provide families with agency referrals and contact information as needed.
- Ensure onsite community resources are accurate and up to date (i.e., pamphlets).
- Ensure cultural sensitivity and client confidentiality are always preserved.
- Set-up and clean-up of programs.
- Provide respite care to parents and caregivers during education sessions.
- Responsible for complete set-up and take-down as well as all aspects of programming when operating at a satellite location.
- Provide phone support and referrals during all business hours.
- Ensure facilities and resources are safe, clean, and well maintained.
- Demonstrate tact and diplomacy when discussing resources or information related to the needs of families.
- Engage with children and parents/caregivers in an attentive, encouraging, and positive manner.
- Use appropriate tracking system to record client attendance and resource use.
Program Support:
- Follow all conditions and guidelines of agreements, permits or leases to maintain favourable relations; reporting and documenting all concerns or occurrences.
- Gather and analyze monthly statistics before submission to Manager.
- Work with Manager to establish new partnerships with a wide range of community services.
- Ensure adequate supplies are available and prepared for all programs.
- Utilize agency surveys to evaluate the success of programs and follow guidelines.
- Provide mentorship, support and direction to colleagues, students and volunteers as outlined by agency expectations (i.e., site trained on emergency procedures, program expectations and opportunities for professional growth etc.)
- Responsible for the program sign-in process and resource tracking.
- Evaluate program success, report, and periodically review with Manager.
Networking
- Participate on committees, in meetings and attend training sessions both on-site and off-site as directed by the Manager or Director, Operations.
- Ensure promotion of company programs/services.
Skills Required
- Fluently bilingual (English/French) – Spoken and Written.
- Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
Qualifications
- Emergency First Aid/CPR B or C.
- RECE certification in good standing with the College of ECEs.
- Self-motivated, takes initiative and works well within a team environment.
- Ability to work some flexible hours.
- Must be able to travel to sites within provided schedule (i.e., two sites in Mississauga and one site in Brampton).
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a related field.
Education Requirements
- Degree/diploma in Early Childhood Education or approved equivalency.
